QUANTITY SURVEYING

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah hiwabarakatuh. 

Hi! I am ameerah ali/miha from batch 30, 

"Kenapa pilih QS? WAIT, QS TU APA?" Selalu org tny soalan tu. Hmm

Quantity Surveying?

So basically, QS is a professional work field within the construction industry that concerned with construction costs and contracts. It is all about measurement and we own our famous kitab, ‘SMM2’ and the core subject is measurement. QS will involve modern mathematics, sometimes and rarely a little bit of additional mathematics and some physics formula. It's not a rocket science. Setakat ni, okay lah study. Nothing comes easy in life yo people

Anyone from technical science ? Yay? Nay? 

If you are then I suggest you to choose this course in UPU. Subjek Teknologi Kejuruteraan dan/atau Lukisan Kejuruteraan tu mmg membantu bila pilih QS ni. Tak percaya? Masuklah course ni. To those yang ada high imagination on 3D, 2D or yg lukisan Isometrik dgn Oblik tu is your food, lagilah I highly recommend you to choose this course. Tak kena lukis pun actually QS ni,  tapi basic sketching skill dgn imaginasi yg tinggi tu penting. Kena pandai baca drawing dgn sepcifications. Tugas QS agak mencabar, hidup dgn drawing dan measurement. So let's make it positive :)

Kalau nak buat asasi kat UM under Pusat Asasi Alam Bina UM (Pabum) atau any science foundation pun boleh. Nanti habis asasi dengan jayanya boleh terus masuk degree QS under UM or any uni(s) offer QS Degree. I am currently in UiTM Seri Iskandar in my diploma years. Not taking any foundation days and Alhamdulillah been doing fine here and still surviving. 

QS ni juga sebenarnya tergolong dalam bidang kerja profesional. Kenapa profesional?  

Architect with AR. title (Board of Architects Malaysia)

Engineer with IR. title (Board of Engineers Malaysia)

QS with SR. title (Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia)

QS and surveyor lain like land surveyor would share the same title when certified under Royal Institute Surveyor Malaysia (RISM). Later on when you are in the site, you are going to put that white safety helmet same as Architect, Engineer and etc. However Qs ni tak popular mcm Architect and so on. So inshaAllah peluang untuk kerja tu banyak.
